The
first half of 2008 is upon us as we finish out some major
events in our Club’s history. We had the privilege of
hosting the American Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Clubs
National Specialty in Pomona California at the Fairplex. We
followed that show with our own 3rd Annual
CKCSCSC Specialty Show.
The
preparation for a National Specialty begins the year before
and becomes more intense as the date gets near. An event
this big would not be possible without the many dedicated
members and friends of this club.
The most
difficult part of a post show wrap up is trying to thank
each and every person that put so much time and effort into
this great show and not leaving anyone out. The National
show chair was Patty Kanan and our Regional Club show chair
was Sandy Harrison. Between them, they assembled teams to
get these two shows off the ground and running smooth. They
put together a week of events, workshops, forums, dinners
and auctions that covered many topics and are sure to be
remembered for years to come.
To just
name a few of the many that put this show together (and my
apologies for leaving anyone out) Kent & Audrey Johnson,
Gary & Toni Beebower, Luis & Jennifer Espinosa, Ken & Sue
Miller, Rocky & Laura MacDonald, Ken & Sue Minkler,
Stephanie Hart, Marji McCormick, Rita Rudkin, Margaret
Mazotta, Joyce Bustrum, Gwenn Crawford, Susan Oliveri, the
Lunbecks and so many more that I’m sure I have forgotten.
This was a tremendous team effort and we look forward to
attending the next National Specialty in Cape Cod Check

With the
National and our 3rd Annual Specialty behind us,
the fight against anti pet legislation is in full gear for
2008. Check the

status of AB1634 and other bills. AB1634 was amended
and the new language was posted on June 19, 2008. |
