IS
REALLY... The Pet Extinction Act
|
| |
If you
haven't already heard, California is in the
process of pushing through a Bill that would
inevitably do away with all pets.
AB1634, introduced by Assemblymember Lloyd
Levine [Democrat - Van Nuys] passed the
Assembly on June 7, 2007 41 Yes 38 No, and
is now headed for the Senate as it makes its
way through Sacramento.
AB1634 began it's journey in February 2007
which is when our club went into action,
joined with many other breeds, dog fanciers
and pet owners of all kinds. Ted
Crawford, President CKCSCSC made two trips
up to Sacramento with hundreds of others as
they made their way through the halls of the
Capital, visiting the various members trying
to educate them about the truth behind the
Bill.
AB1634 is largely supported by the various
Animal Rights groups such as PETA.
What is marketed as a simple spay and neuter
Bill is really a pet extinction Bill. |

RALLY
IN SACRAMENTO

HUNDREDS SHOWED UP TO OPPOSE THE BILL |

As you
read through the Bill you will see many
areas describing exemptions for show dogs,
working dogs, police dogs etc. If you
read carefully, you will soon see that the
requirements in order to qualify for these
exemptions are impossible to meet.
Wednesday May 9, 2007 the CKCSCSC debuted "The
Dog Law Blog" Our blog quickly
moved to #1 amongst the Dog Fancy for up to
the minute News on AB1634 with as many as
27,000 visitors in one day. The
blog averages 22,000 visitors a day as the
dog community stays on top of the latest
news.
The next important date is Wednesday July
11, 2007 when it is heard in the Senate.
A Rally will follow at the Capital.
On the Blog you can see where we have been,
where we are, and where we are headed.
You can download the
podcast of the KFI John and Ken
Interview with Ted Crawford [and Stephanie
Hart] and find links to many resources on
